Bradford On Avon

Today the u15 blacks welcomed high flying Bradford on Avon who haven’t dropped a point this season. After some music in the changing room we took to the field in high spirits. We started well again tackling and hassling them. We seemed to panic a bit with the ball at our feet once we sorted this good football soon followed. Nathan picked the ball up on the halfway like played a good ball to Ethan who shot just wide. On 12 mins B-O-A broke away and scored with their first real attack 0-1. The good thing was this didn’t phase us we still played good football. Then out of know where Brian hit a 35 yard shot into the far corner 1-1. We then starting to knock the ball around the ball fell to Seb who’s shot from 18 yards went just wide. B-O-A win a free kick after a clumsy challenge by Callum they hit the outside of the post with it. With half time approaching the ball fell at Sebs feet this time he smashed the ball home 2-1. No more than we deserved playing up the famous Highbury slope.
After an easy team talk of keep up the hard work the second half kicked off. We created chances for Callum Joe Jacob who were all just off target. After a good save from their keeper and a header off the line and Reece lying flat out in their box Joe found himself with a free header from at least 2 yards out 3-1. Listen then half volleyed a shot off the inside of the post which rolled along the line or maybe slightly over it. Can we please invest in goaline technology please as this could cost kieren his goal bonus pay up Mark it was in. However the goal wasn’t given. B-O-A had very few chances but one was a cross into the box and a header from 4 yards which forced Dean into a top class save. Another chance was after Dean came out of his box and cleared but we didn’t win the second ball and B-O-A shot at a empty net. From somewhere Cory appeared and grew to about 10ft talk to header away. Towards the end of the game a ball pulled back found Brian who calmly slotted home 4-1. This is a result for your attitude your hard work at training and today. Well done lads onto the county cup next week. If anyone reading this is free next Sunday we are playing South Wilts Soccer who I believe play Junior Premier League. This will be a really tough game if you can come and support the lads the tea hut will be open. Let’s get behind them. Keep believing.
