FC Bath 18/9/16

Match report:
Warminster Highbury U12 Reds 9 – 0 FC Bath U12 Blues

Princecroft is the home venue for the U12 Reds 2016/17 campaign in the Midsomer Norton and East Somerset League and the team played host to FC Bath Blues on Sunday 18 September.

After a bit of a slow, uncertain start the lads soon found their feet and took control of the game, completely dominating play in the first half.

The opener came after about 10 minutes with a lovely strike from Ben L off a cross from Lennon B to make it 1-0 to the U12 Reds. After that the lads really got the ball moving and the chances came thick and fast. The whole team demonstrated lovely link-up play, playing from the back and consistently pushing forward to threaten the visitors’ goal. Further first-half goals came from Dom F and Braden H to give the U12 Reds a comfortable half-time lead of 3-0.

The second half started strongly with Caleb N smashing one home in the opening minute to take the scoreline to 4-0. Further goals came from Dom F and Ethan P. Braden H had a terrific game, scoring another three in the second half to take his goal tally to four over the whole match. The boys really put in an assured, confident and impressive performance.

FC Bath deserve credit for never giving up during these sustained attacks and keeping their heads up through the whole match. Their goalie, too, stopped many of our attempts and pulled off some outstanding saves to keep the scoreline in single digits. Well done to both teams for an enjoyable and entertaining game.
